After School Club
- After School Clubs are available for FREE for KS3 and KS4 once a week
- Hangouts are also available for KS2 (although this is a paid subject)
- Students enter a lesson via their dashboard and then choose a breakout room
- Room options include gaming, tea & talks, film watching, and many more
- Rooms are hosted and monitored by our Happiness Manager team
Termly Meet Ups
- We host a Meet Up event every full term, across the UK
- You can see the 2026/2027 Meet Up dates in the calendar below
- Locations to be confirmed at the beginning of the new academic year
- Activities included are varied and depend on student feedback
- We always host a pre-event online meeting before these events to answer any questions, break the ice amongst attendees and share what to expect on the day
- Family and friends are welcome to attend our meet up events as well

- We will definitely visit different areas of the UK
- Every meet up event happens before the end of the term to make sure venues are less busy
Buddy System
- In the Buddy System, students are paired based on age, hobbies and/or location (depending on preferences)
- Once students confirm their desire to take part, parent permission to share information will be requested
- If students get permission, they will then be paired and personal information will be shared privately
- Students can then keep in contact outside of lessons
- Fosters connection and friendships within our school
- Its subject to the same school behaviour policies
Work Experience
- Work Experience sessions happen once a week
- These are completely FREE to join
- Students can choose to join a group to work on a particular skill and / or create something to be included in our termly TOS magazine
- Groups follow the student's interests in a specific topic such as Journalism and Social Media. We also have a Creative Corner group available.
- Sessions are a mix of teacher input and student work. Live feedback is also given, to guide students while working on their tasks.
- Opportunity to hone on skills which are transferrable to lots of different situations and careers
- Work done in these sessions can be acknowledged via a certificate. The TOS magazine can be included in a portfolio or as proof of work done and this experience can be added to CVs
Diversity and Inclusion Group
- Our Diversity and Inclusion group is run by our in-house mental health practitioner
- Themes vary each week
- Students have found these sessions very helpful
- Most reported an overall improvement in their mental health and wellbeing after attending
- If students are interested in taking part, they can reach out to their Happiness Manager in lessons
- Alternatively, you can send us an email to effie@theonlineschool.uk to be added onto the group
- These are FREE sessions for students already enrolled with us
Prom for KS4
- KS4 students are welcome to attend our prom event
- It happens after the last exam season of the academic year, around the month of June (final date to be confirmed)
- Students are surveyed for feedback on location, theme and food menu
- Friends are welcome to come as plus ones and families are invited to take pictures at drop-off
