We believe that there are a dozen of technological distractions available to students who are home educating, so if we don’t keep them engaged, then they’re going to get preoccupied with something else. So what we do is use technology to our advantage. We don’t encourage students to respond back to questions with “I don’t know”, instead we encourage them to “cheat” in lessons and Google the answer.
This helps them gain experience using search engines (which are used heavily in many corporate roles), keeps them engaged and sparks inquisitiveness so they don’t have to settle for not knowing the answer, rather they can have some idea by the end of the activity.
